Sr. JD, IBD was the resource person of the program which was
attended by 19 officials of 7 banks. The trainer discussed at length the
legal, regulatory and Shariah governance framework for Islamic
banking institutions and responded to various queries of the
participants. The participants were also apprised about IFSB & AAOIFI
guidelines/Standards on Corporate & Shariah Governance.
2-Day Advance level Course on “Islamic FinTech & Islamic
Digital Finance (DiFi)” was arranged on May 31-June 1, 2021 in VILT
mode. Total 33 Shariah scholars/officials of banks participated in the
course. Mr Faizan Ahmad – CFO of ‘Islamic Bank of Afghanistan’ was
the resource person. During two days, the trainer introduced FinTech
to the participants, the Shariah compliant requirements and
challenges posed by FinTech, business applications, technological
aspect of FinTech, and implications of FinTech for established business
with the help of case studies. He underlined the need for FinTech in
the banking industry. The participants took keen interest in the
subject. They appreciated NIBAF for arranging the program on the
important topic of FinTech.

mode. Islamic Banking awareness session for University Students of
Bahawalpur was arranged on June 10, 2021 which was attended by
254 students. Mufti Muhammad Muaz Ashraf covered th e first session
on the basic concepts of Islamic Banking whereas Muhammad Islam
Ahmed, Ex Sr. JD, Islamic Banking Department covered second session
on Regulatory framework.
Another, Islamic Banking awareness session for University Students of
Multan was arranged on June 24, 2021 which was attended by 208
students/faculty members. Qazi Abdul Samad covered the first session
on the basic concepts of Islamic Banking whereas Farid Khan, JD,
