Fundamentals of Islamic Banking Operations(FIBO) is a five-
day program that aims to provide a comprehensive
orientation/exposure about various aspects of islamic banking
operations, shariah compliant products and SBP regulatory
framework. The Program is designed for both Bankers (Branch
Managers, Operations Managers, and Relationship Managers
etc.) and non-bankers (Shariah Scholars, Academicians etc.).
Renowned Sharia Scholars, Resident Sharia Members of
different banks, and islamic banking experts and officers from
Islamic Banking Department, SBP are invited to deliver the
different modules of the program with daily assessments and a
comprehensive assessment adminstererd at program
conclusion.
Over the five days different areas including foundation level
concepts are covered including principles of islamic economics
and Shariah, islamic banking and its pillars, comparison on
conventional vs islamic banking, islamic law of contracts and
principles of trading. Practical knowledge and current
application of intermediation modes and sub modes, their
process flows & risks, documentation and practical issues are
also discussed in detail. In the final module deposit-side
