Decentralized Finance, NFTs’ and the
Metaverse: Islamic Finance Use Cases
NIBAF in collaboration with Bahrain Institute of Banking and
Finance (BIBF) arranged a webinar on Decentralized
Finance, NFTs’ and the Metaverse: Islamic Finance Use
Cases on April 14, 2022. Mr. Mujtaba Khalid, Head of the
Centre for Islamic Finance, BIBF conducted the webinar.
During the session, the speaker shared his insights on the
subject and stressed the need for use of technology in the
Islamic banking industry and responded to the participants’
queries in detail.

University Multan was conducted by Mufti Dr. Uzair
Ashraf Usmani and was attended by 143participants.
The Islamic banking awareness session for Punjab
University Gujranwala campus was conducted by Mufti
Abubakar Sirajuddin and was attended by 103
participants. Demystifying Ethics for
Islamic finance professionals
NIBAF in collaboration with AAOIFI arranged a webinar on
Demystifying Ethics for Islamic finance professionals.
The webinar was conducted by Mr. Farhan Noor, Head of
Capacity Building Programs, AAOIFI. He shared his insights
on the conceptual framework of code of ethics for Islamic
finance professionals. He also discussed the background of
this project started by the AAOIFI Governance and Ethics
Board and the development of four documents, including the
Code of Ethics for Islamic Finance Professionals, Handbook,
Governance Standards on Ethics, and Code of Conduct for
IFIs. He also emphasized the importance of ethical standards
for the future of Islamic finance. The structure and
applicability of the code of ethics for Islamic finance
professionals were also covered. The speaker involved the
participants through an interactive session and effectively
responded to queries of the participants.
