SME Programs
NIBAF in close collaboration with IH&SMEFD of State
Bank develops a comprehensive training plan for banks to
enhance human resource capacity of their staff particular-
ly in the area of SME financing. These training programs
also include awareness sessions arranged in different cit-
ies. The purpose of these sessions is to develop under-
standing of SMEs’ traders, manufacturers and services
providers regarding various SBP Re-finance Schemes and
to give them opportunity to interact with bankers in their
respective region.
NIBAF organized 34 training programs on different aspects
of SME banking and finance, which included 9 programs
on SME Regulatory Framework & Refinance Schemes,
14 awareness sessions and 11 programs on operational as-
pects of SME financing. A total of, 477 officials attended
these regular programs from the banking industry, while
889 SMEs (traders, Service provider, manufacturers) par-
ticipated in 14-SME Awareness sessions. Further, NIBAF
also organized SME program for banks’ senior executive/
mid-level managers at Lahore Overall these programs
were held in the major cities which included: Abbottabad,
Attock, Bahawalpur, D I Khan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala,
Gujrat, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Jhelum, Karachi, Lahore,
Madan, Multan, Mirpur Khaas, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur
AJK, Peshawar, Quetta, Sargodha, Sialkot, Sukkur, Rawal-
pindi and Rahim Yar Khan. Prominent bankers and pro-
fessionals delivered these sessions. Training delivery com-
prised of presentations, interactive trainers sessions, group/
individual exercises and case studies.
