Training Matters!




























        ToT on Financial Literacy



        A five-day training of trainers’ workshop on National Financial
        Literacy Program (NFLP) was arranged at NIBAF, Islamabad on
        March 16-19, 2020. The program participants were 27 commer-
        cial bankers from 26 Banks, and an Assistant Director SBP, BSC,
        Head Office, Karachi. The commercial bankers were trained as
        NFLP trainers with the intent that they would eventually support
        the program as Master Trainers.  The participants were formally
        welcomed by Mr. Sajid Ali, Director NIBAF, Mr. Sardar Shah,
        Additional Director, and Mr. Ghulam Hussain Afridi,  Training
        Manager. After the formal welcome by the NIBAF team, the par-
        ticipants were also welcomed by Sajjad Ali Shah, Regional Head,
        North, SBC, Banking Services Corporation (BSC). Mr. Sajjad
        said, that Universal Access to financial services is a long term idea
        however; financial literacy is the stepping stone in that direction,
        as it empowers individuals  to  make  better  &  informed  choices
        and effective decisions, regarding the use of financial services. He
        further elaborated that Financial literacy is important for various
        reasons; particularly with respect to individuals financial & wealth
        management skills and the way it impacts their standard of living.
        This workshop was meant to be a 5-day event. However, due to
        the Corona Virus pandemic, and the social isolation demanded by
        the government and the participant’s respective organizations, it
        was agreed that the trainers would bring in more resources (ex-
        perts), and that without compromising the quality and content of
        the workshop, it was curtailed into a 4-day training.
