Development of a flourishing Islamic banking system has remained a key agenda of SBP. As capacity building and mass awareness
      campaigns are critical to promote Islamic banking, NIBAF has been on the forefront in supporting relevant stakeholders towards building
      their human resources as well as organizing awareness events for masses. Summary of capacity building and mass awareness sessions
      conducted in Q3FY22 is as below:

       Shariah Students         Uloom  Memon,  Karachi.  The
       of Saylani Welfare       course consisted of a set of 16
        Trust and Jamia         modules which  started  with ba-
                                sics  of  Islamic  banking  &  its
          Darul Uloom           products, and gradually progressed to latest operational issues faced by the banks, SBP regulations and
             Memon              Islamic banking products development. As per course structure, successful award of the certification
                                was subject to meeting the minimum criteria in knowledge assessment, comprising of daily quizzes,
                                group presentations and a comprehensive examination at the end of the program. Fifty-first instance of
                                the course was successfully held from January 22-March 20, 2022 with participants duly appreciating
                                the special arrangements of conducting this program on weekends.

                                On the directives of SBP Board of Directors, NIBAF in consultation with IBD developed a certificate pro-
                                gram for capacity building of Shariah scholars. The course was designed with ten modules of two-days
                                each, on significant topics in Islamic Finance. The program’s duration was 21 days and designed to be
                                conducted in 3 phases.
                                While the Phase-1 of the 3  iteration of this

       Capacity Building        program was conducted during November
            of Shariah          29 to December 6, 2021, the Phase-II and
             Scholars           Phase-III were conducted during January
                                10-17,  2022  and  March  14-25,  2020  re-
                                spectively. The program was attended by
                                16  Shariah  Scholars  from  various  banks
                                and  Pakistan  Mortgage  Refinance  Com-
                                pany.

                               NIBAF had designed this program for the candidates of the CSAA exam. The program was conducted in
        Certification in       virtual mode during February 14-March 11, 2022 and was attended by 8 participants, followed by a com-
        AAOIFI Shariah         prehensive exam. Renowned trainers from the industry including Mufti Irshad Ahmad Aijaz, Mufti Najeeb
           Standards           Khan, Mufti Abubakar Sirajuddin, Mufti Muaz Ashraf, Faizan Ahmad Memon, Asfand Zubair Malik and
             (CASS)            Khawaja Ehsan conducted the sessions. During the program, all Shariah Standards and Governance
                               were thoroughly discussed.
